Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Railway Apprentices. SCRA Eligibility Nationality A candidate must be either: A citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee Age Limits 17 years -21 years. Upper age relax able as: Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: Up to a maximum of five years. Other Backward Classes: Up to a maximum of three years. Educational Qualifications: Passed Intermediate or an equivalent Examination of a University or Board approved by the Government of India with securing First or second division marks. Studied Mathematics and atleast one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects Intermediate or an equivalent Examination. Graduates with Mathematics and atleast one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects. SCRA Examination Pattern: Three papers will be held: Paper I – General Ability Test (General Knowledge, English and psychological Test) Paper II – Physical Sciences (Chemistry and Physics) Paper III – Mathematics SCRA Syllabus 2016 Paper I – Paper I contains 3 subject that are English, general knowledge and psychological test. 1. English: General English related questions. 2. General Knowledge: Questions on this topic will be asked to test the general awareness of the candidate. Psychological Test: Questions on this topic will test the candidate’s basic intelligence and mechanical aptitude. Paper II – Two subjects are there – physics and chemistry. 1.
