Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) makes recruitment of SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) in Indian Railways. Candidates, who want jobs in Mechanical Engineering Department in Railway, will be selected on the base of SCRA exam score.

Eligibility Criteria for SCRA Exam

One should have passed the Intermediate/class 12th exam with Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry should be studied as one of the main subject in the exam.
One must have secured first or second class as their respective result.
Or,
One should have completed the graduation with Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry should be studied as one of their main subject in exam.

Age Limit
One, those is interested to appear in this examination should be aged in between 17 to 21 years.
Age relaxation will be completely based on the rules of UPSC.

Selection Process SCRA:

The selection process is based on the three modes of examination which include: Written exam, personality test or Interview and Document Verification respectively.

SCRA Examination Pattern

The SCRA Exam 2016 is in objective modes containing multiple choice type questions. Major sections are General Ability, Physical Sciences and Mathematics respectively.

Examination will be conducted in two parts:

Part I contains –

Paper I: General Ability Test (GK, English & Psychological Test): The total marks will be 200.

Paper II: Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry): The total marks will be 200.

Paper III: Mathematics: The total marks will be 200.

Overall Marks: 600 Marks

The exam duration will be 2 Hours for each paper.

Part II covers a personality test of 200 marks. However, it is conducted only for those candidates, who have qualified their written examination.
