MBA Concentration in Sustainable Business The e Master of Business Administration (MBA) Concentration in Sustainable Business program concentration provides with skills to address environmental and social dimensions of conducting business in a global market. It emphasizes four aspects of sustainable business that improve a firm's long-term performance: • managing risks (regulatory, reputation, litigation, market) • recognizing market opportunities created by environmental and social challenges, and • Applying innovation tools and concepts to meet unmet needs. One learn how to articulate the business case for sustainability; develop innovative products and services; lead internal and external coalitions needed to drive organizational change; and implement metrics to measure progress and provide accountability. In addition to the core MBA requirements, one specializing in Sustainable Business completes the following 3 courses and 2 electives approved by a concentration adviser: Core Courses • MGMT 856: Managing the Sustainable Business - Skills and perspectives required to manage and operate a sustainable business. Focus on the tools necessary to perform each business function taking environmental and social implications into account. • BUS 857: Business Management and Environmental Leadership - Impact of business organizations on the natural environment Approaches to respond effectively to environmental issues • MGMT 858: Innovation for Sustainability - Business innovation to meet society's emerging needs.
