The Shri Ram College of Commerce is established by University of Delhi. The University of Delhi provides approval to Shri Ram College of Commerce.

Shri Ram College of Commerce, Lala Shri Ram who founded this institution and guided it to such unattainable heights was born on April 27, 1884.

First son of Madan Mohan Lal and Chando Devi, Lala Shri Ram got most of his early education from a Municipal Primary School in Bazaar Sita Ram.

In 1909, when he joined DCM, Lala Shri Ram was 25 years old.

The Commercial College sign the entry of Commerce education in the university system of Delhi. The initial funds for setting up of the College came from the Dewan Chand Trust.
