Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art was established in the year 1935. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai .

Facilities:
A Computer Terminal Room.
A Display room for occasional academic displays
A Print-shop with 4 printing machines
A Room for Spray Painting.
A Video and Audio-Visual Room.
A well managed Hostel for 120 students.
Built up area: 6,000 sq. feet Carpet area: 40,000 sq. feet.
Canteen
Separate common rooms for boys and girls students.
The institute has a Gymnasium, a Gymkhana and a Playground.
Two workshops with hand tools
Well-equipped illustration studio where 150 students can sit comfortably and work.
Well-equipped Photography studio with 7 darkrooms and a shooting studio with ample instruments for b/w and colour photography.
Well-illuminated and ventilated, classrooms with ample moving space for the students.
