The Department of Economics offers four separate college degree arranges: B.A., B.S., B.S. with Management Information Systems, and B.S. with Financial Applications.

Details & Requirements
B.A. in Economics

B.A. Degree Required Courses
ECO CORE (1311, 1312, 3301, 3302)
Advanced courses
MATH 1309 or MATH 1337
STAT 2301 or 2331 or 4340

B.S. in Economics

B.S. Degree Required Courses
ECO CORE (1311, 1312, 3301, 3302)
Advanced courses
MATH 1309 or MATH 1337 and 1338
STAT 2301 or 2331 or 4340

Restrictions to look out for:
At most two of the following courses can be used toward the advanced economics requirement: ECO 4390, 4395-97, 4398 and 4399.
The advanced economics classes must include at least six hours at the 5000 or above level.
At least one of the approved fields listed below must be satisfied by the advanced economics courses selected.
Cox students may take FINA 3320, 4326, and 3330 and they will count as advanced economics classes.

B.S. with Financial Applications

B.S.F.A Degree Required Courses
ECO CORE (1311, 1312, 3301, 3302)
Advanced courses
MATH 1309 or MATH 1337
ACCT 2301 (formerly 2311)
STAT 2301 or 2331 or 4340
CSE 1340 or 1341 or ITOM 3306
ECO 3355
ECO 4368
ECO 4378

Restrictions to look out for:
At most two of the following courses can be used toward the advanced economics requirement: ECO 4390, 4395-97, 4398 and 4399.
The advanced economics classes must include at least six hours at the 5000 or above level.

B.S. with Management Information Applications

B.S.M.I.A. Degree Required Courses
ECO CORE (1311, 1312, 3301, 3302)
Econometrics ECO 5350 and at least one of the following 5375,5380, 5385, 6352
Advanced courses
MATH 1337 and MATH 1338
EMIS 1360, 2360, 3360, and EMIS 3340 or STAT 4340
CSE 1341 or ITOM 3306 and CSE 1342

Advanced economics courses are defined as ECO 3355 and any economics course at the 4000- or 5000-level.
