The establishment of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University was during the period, 1955 to 2006 to strengthen education and services in the fields of Veterinary Science, Dairy Technology and Fishery Science in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

There are 6 Animal Husbandry Polytechnics and one Fisheries Polytechnic in Sri Venkateswar Veterinary University. Two year Diploma in Animal Husbandry is offered at the Animal Husbandary Polytechnics and two year Diploma in Fisheries is offered at the Fisheries Polytechnic.

Course Details:
1. Diploma in Animal Husbandry: 180 Seats
2. Diploma in Fishery: 19 Seats

Eligibility for admission:

The 10th class or S.S.C passed rural students are eligible for admission and the medium of instruction is Telugu.

Age limit:
The Candidates age limit must have between 15 to 22 years as on 31.08.2016.
