Re: SSC CGL Written Exam

SSC CGL is an open competitive written examination conducted for the recruitment of personnel for Grade- B and C categories posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations.

Eligibility Criteria : Bachelor’s / Graduation degree from a recognized University/ College/Institute


Examination papers

Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts
Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr.II & Compiler
Paper IV is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer

Examination Pattern :

Tier I Exam

Question paper will be divided into 4 sections – General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.

Each section will have 50 questions making a total of 200 questions overall. Total time duration is 2 hours. And yes, there is negative marking with a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Tier II Exam
There will be three papers viz. Paper I – Quantitative Ability, Paper- II – English Language and Comprehension and Paper – III Statistics.

0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking in Paper-II and 0.50 marks in Paper-I and Paper-III respectively. Paper- III can be attempted only by the candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr. II & Compiler.
