Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has replaced Combined Matric Level Exam with SSC Combined Higher Secondary Exam .

SSC CHSE be conduct for recruitment to the posts of Lower Division Clerks and Data Entry Operators.

Combined Matric Level Exam Eligibility
Nationality/Citizenship:
A citizen of India or
A subject of Nepal or
A subject of Bhutan
A Tibetan refugee

Educational Qualification:
Matric from a recognized Board or equivalent.

Age:
18 to 27 years

CHSL Exam pattern
Examination will be conducted in two parts
Part 1
Part 2

Part 1:
There shall be 4 parts .

Single question paper.

50 questions from each section.

Sections:
General Intelligence,
English Language,
Quantitative Aptitude,
General Awareness.

Weight age of each section : 50 marks.

Duration : 2 hours or 120 minutes.

Paper will consist of objective type (multiple choice questions) only.

Questions will be set both in English & Hindi.

There will be negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer.

Part 2:
Typing test Lower Division Clerks
Typing test will be held for those candidates who qualify in the written examination.

This test will be conducted in English or Hindi.

Candidates who opt for English medium must have a typing speed of 35 words per minute .

Those who opt for Hindi medium must have typing speed of 30 words per minute.

Skill Test for Data Entry Operator

They must maintain a data entry speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) key depressions per hour on a computer.

Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer will be judged on the basis of correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

Duration of this test :15 minutes.
