Staff Selection Commission or SSC is an organization that makes recruitment to all Group – B and Group – C posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and their attached and subordinate offices.

Physical standard requirements for Male candidates:

Height: 157.5 cms (5 feet 2 inches)
Chest: 81 cms (32 inches) (full expended with minimum expanse of 5 cms. or 2 inches)

Height is relaxable by 5 cms in the case of Garwalis, Gorkhas, Assamese, members of Scheduled Tribes.

(b) Physical Test:
Walking : 1600 metres in 15 min.
Cycling : 8 Kms. In 30 min.

Physical Standards for Female Candidates

(a) Physical standards (Minimum)
Height: 152 cms. (5 feet)
Weight: 48 Kgs.

Height is relaxable by 2.5 cms and Weight by 2 Kgs. for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese and Members of Scheduled Tribes

ii) Physical Test :
Walking : 1 Km. in 20 minutes.
Cycling : 3 Kms. in 25 minutes.
