Student of any stream can appear in the Civil Services Examination, there is no particular stream is required. It is conducted by UPSC every year. Here I am giving you the details of this examination: Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of: A citizen of India, or A subject of Bhutan, or A subject of Nepal, or A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Required qualification: The applicant should have completed Degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India Some good books for the preparing: NCERT Books Indian History – Class XI & XII Indian Geography – Class VI to XII Science – Class IX & X Indian Polity [constitution] Indian polity - by Laxmikanth (TMH publications) Introduction to constitution of India – D.D. Basu Indian Constitution – P.N. Bakshi / Indian Economy Pratiyogita Darpan (Latest Edition) and Economic survey [2009-10] Prelims Guide Any Standard Guide available in the market like Tata McGrawHill, Spectrum Other Sources Regular watching of TV News (NDTV, BBC, CNN, and DD) and reading general magazines like India Today, Outlook and Sunday Indian etc. |
