I want to know the study plan/ exam pattern of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC ) Group II exam so can you tell me?

As you want to know the exam pattern of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC ) Group II exam so here I am telling you.

TNPSC Group II exam pattern-

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

Duration 3 Hours

Maximum Marks 150+150

Minimum Qualifying Marks
for All Communities 90

Total – 300

Total – 200 questions

Subject -

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)-

General Studies (Degree Standard) (75 items)
Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (S.S.L.C. Std.) (25 items General Tamil / General English (S.S.L.C. Std.) (100 items) (

The questions on general studies will be defined both in English and Tamil and questions General Tamil / English general will be established in the respective languages.

Main Written Examination (Degree Standard) (Descriptive Type) And Oral Test-

Duration 3 hours

Max Marks 30040

Minimum Qualifying Marks for All Communities 102

Subject -

Main Written Examination

General Studies

(Degree Standard)

(Descriptive Type)

Interview and Record

The question paper will be set in both Tamil and English.

General topics / subjects Questions will be asked are:

1) The role and impact of science and technology in the development of India and Tamil Nadu

2) The administration of the Union and the States with particular reference to Tamil Nadu

3) socio-economic problems of India and Tamil Nadu

4) Current issues at national level

5) The current problems at the state level

Candidates are allowed to answer questions, either entirely in Tamil or entirely in English.
