The Government of Assam, Department of School Education, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) conducts Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) also known as Assam TET.

Assam TET is for the candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary (Class I-V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools in the state of Assam.
TET is a compulsory examination for all the B.Ed qualified candidates to be considered for Teacher jobs in schools run by the government and private managements.
BA/B.Sc/ B.Com/BT with B.Ed is the minimum educational qualification to apply for Assam TET.

Age Limit:
Candidate’s age should not be above 38 years.
Age relaxation is applicable upto 5 years for SC/ ST candidates.

Educational Qualification:
Candidates should possess following educational qualification.

Hindi Teacher:
Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized university or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T/ B. Ed. degree from any recognized University/ Institutions

Sanskrit Teacher:
Shastri with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T/ B.Ed degree from any recognized University/ Institutions for S.No- 2.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on test and interview.

Application Fee: Candidates have to pay Rs. 400/-.
