Subansiri Women’s Hostel was opened on 1st August 2009 and was officially inaugurated on 31st August 2009. Known for its passion, integrity, interest and participation in all the events in the University, Subansiri has shone brightly.

Hostel Facilities

Its hostel consists of 102 rooms housing two boarders each. Every room has 2 beds, 2 cupboards, 2 tables, and two chairs. The rooms are spacious and we have 24 hours electricity. Apart from the rooms, hostel provides the following facilities.

Kitchen
Hostel kitchen is well equipped with all the essential amenities such as refrigerator, mixer grinder, and sufficient number of gas outlets, cooking utensils, kitchen chimneys, large space, and a clean environment.
The boarders are also allowed to use the gas outlets and water heating kettles for preparing snacks and beverages.

Dining Hall
It has a huge dining hall capable of seating 96 people at a time.
The dining hall is always well maintained and the tables and chairs are kept neat and clean.
The dining area is open for three meals a day, Breakfast (8:30-10:30 am), Lunch (12-2pm) and Dinner (8:30-10:30pm).


24 Hours Internet
Hostel has 24 hours internet facility. Internet connection is provided to the boarders wirelessly by means of Wi-Fi routers placed strategically at different locations within the hostel.
All connections to the internet are through a proxy server which provides security as well as flexibility in maintenance.

Recreation Room
The recreation room in hostel has a Table Tennis board, Carrom Board, and other board games.
This is where the boarders can chill out, play and have fun.

Common Room
The hostel common room is where meetings and discussions (both formal and informal), hostel events such as Fresher's social, Farewell, and other functions and events are held.
When there is no such event, the common room is used by the boarders to watch TV, read newspapers and magazines, or just sit and chat with friends.
The common room is equipped with a satellite TV with set top box, and a music system.

Coffee Shop
It has a coffee shop within hostel premises, which provides the boarders the odd time coffee, tea and snacks.

Guest's Waiting Room
Hostel has a guest room, where the parents and relatives of the boarders wishing to meet their wards can sit and relax as they wait, as entry into the hostel is restricted.
