I am interested in doing engineering degree and for this want to give the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) Exam. Will you tell what TNEA Exam Eligibility Criteria also provide details about Admission Of Vocational seats reserved for candidates along with exam dates?

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) will be conducted by Anna University.

TNEA is conducted every year by the university for admission to undergraduate level courses available at various engineering colleges of the State.

TNEA Eligibility Criteria:

You must have passed 12th board exam or equivalent with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate

Candidates applying for TNEA 2016 must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their 12th or equivalent exam

Short listing and seat allotment of the candidates through TNEA 2016 will be done on the basis of their marks in class 11th and class 12th.

Admission Of Vocational Stream Candidates

100 seats in Category I and 4 % of seats surrendered in Category II have been set apart vide G.O. (Ms.) No. 290 HE (J2) Dept. dt: 21.08.2007 for the HSC (vocational stream) candidates.

The academic marks in the prescribed subjects will be reduced to 200.

Seats are not reserved in University Departments and University Colleges.

Selection will be made following the Communal reservation. Ranking and counselling will be separate for vocational candidates.

Out of 3 % Vocational seats in Category I and II, the reservation for Differently Abled Persons candidates is 1 % for Orthopaedically Differently Abled Persons, 1 % for Hearing Impaired and 1 % for Visually Impaired.
