I am planning to give the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 1 DSP Deputy Superintendent of Police Exam. Will you please tell what the TNPSC Group 1 DSP Eligibility and pattern of this exam also tell what the Physical Qualification required?

TNPSC Group 1 Exam is considered as the Top Most Government Examination in Tamilnadu State.

TNPSC Group 1 DSP Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category – I) Eligibility:

A Degree or Diploma in Criminology and Forensic Science and also to those who possess National Awards for Physical Efficiency

Physical Qualification:

i. For Men:

Must be not less than 165 cms in Height and not less than 86 cms round the chest on full inspiration and must have a chest expansion of not less than 5 cms on full inspiration.

ii. For Women:

Must be not less than 155 cms in Height. The Chest measurement will not apply to them.

Exam Pattern:

Scheme of Examination:
Group 1 Exam will consists of

A) Preliminary Examination
B) Main Written Examination and
C)Oral Test.

A. Preliminary Examination:

Preliminary examination will consists of 200 items in objective type, duration will be 3 Hours for maximum marks of 300.

B. Main Written Examination & Oral Interview:

Main examination will consists of descriptive type questions from degree standard. Exam will have three papers viz., Paper I, Paper II and Paper III each will carry maximum marks of 300 in time duration of 3 hours.

C. Oral Interview: Interview will be conducted for 120 Marks.

III. Selection Process:

The selection will be made in three successive stages, viz.,
(i) Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination
(ii) Main Written Examination and
(iii) Oral Test in the shape of an Interview.
