I am planning to give the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 1 DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) Exam. Will you please tell what the TNPSC Group 1 DSP Eligibility and pattern of this exam also provide complete syllabus so I can prepare for exam?

TNPSC Group 1 Exam is considered as the Top Most Government Examination in Tamilnadu State.

TNPSC Group 1 DSP Deputy Superintendent of Police Eligibility:

A Degree or Diploma in Criminology and Forensic Science and also to those who possess National Awards for Physical Efficiency

Physical Qualification:

i. For Men:

Must be not less than 165 cms in Height and not less than 86 cms round the chest on full inspiration and must have a chest expansion of not less than 5 cms on full inspiration.

ii. For Women:

Must be not less than 155 cms in Height. The Chest measurement will not apply to them.

III. Selection Process:

The selection will be made in three successive stages, viz.,
(i) Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination
(ii) Main Written Examination and
(iii) Oral Test in the shape of an Interview.

Syllabus:

The TNPSC group 1 prelims syllabus for general studies is given below,

General Science.
Current Events.
Geography.
History and culture of India.
Indian Polity.
Indian Economy.
Indian National Movement.
Mental Ability Test.

TNPSC group 1 main exam new syllabus consists of three papers Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III.
The detailed syllabus of these papers is given below,

Paper I contains,

– Modern history of India and Indian culture.

– General Aptitude and Mental ability test.

– Role and impact of Science and Technology in the development of India and Tamilnadu.

Paper II contains,

– Indian polity and emerging political trends across the world, affecting India and Geography of India.

– Tamil society, its culture and heritage / English language skills.

– Administration of union and states with special reference to Tamilnadu.

Paper III contains,

– Current events of national and international importance.

– Current economic trends: Indian economy and impact of global economy on India.

– Socioeconomic problems of India / Tamilnadu.

Each paper carries 300 marks.
