Teachers Recruitment Board Government of Tamil Nadu conducts as Teacher Eligibility Test - TET for recruitment of Teachers.

Eligibility Criteria

a. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course (10+2 Pattern) and Diploma in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education (Regarding the Candidates who have passed D.T.Ed., from States other than Tamil Nadu, their certificate should be evaluated before Certificate Verification) from a Recognized Teacher Training Institute / DIET and seeking an appointment as Secondary Grade Teacher for classes I to V (except Visually Impaired Candidates) can write Paper I.


. Candidates appearing for the Final Year Examination of D.E.Ed. during the current Academic Year (2016–2017) are also permitted to appear for Paper I in the Teacher Eligibility Test.

Such Candidates should successfully complete the course in the current Academic Year (2016-2017) itself and should produce D.E.Ed., Certificate during Certificate Verification;

Duration of Examination : 3 Hours


I Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to age group 6 – 11) - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

II Language I – (Tamil/Telugu/ Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu) - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

III Language II – English - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

IV Mathematics - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

V Environmental Studies - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

Total - 150 MCQs - 150 Marks

There will not be any negative marking.


Paper II Pattern -

Duration of Examination : 3 Hours


i Child Development and Pedagogy – relevant to the age Group 11 – 14 Years (Compulsory) - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

ii Language I - Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu (Compulsory) - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

iii Language II - English (Compulsory) - - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks

iv a) For Mathematics and Science Teacher: Mathematics and Science

or

b) For Social Science Teacher: Social Science


or

c) Any Other Teacher [(a) or (b)] - 60 MCQs - 60 Marks

Total - 150 MCQs - 150 Marks
