Can you tell me in detail about the number of seats in IIMs (Indian Institute of Managements) in India for admission in MBA (Master in Business Administration) course?

The IIMs follow a 2 step admission process- CAT or the Common Admission Test and Written Ability Test (WAT) or Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Factors like past academic records, work experience and diversity are also taken into consideration.

While the first round of shortlist is mainly based on the CAT cutoff and the past academic records and work experience, second round of selection is based on the performance in WAT/GD and PI; past academic records, work experience, co-curricular activities and diversity factors (if applicable).

Each parameter is assigned particular weightage on the basis of which the final merit list is prepared. The parameters and their weights vary in each of the IIMs.
