Re: Training In Union Bank Of India
Well the Training in Union Bank is a bank-wide responsibility which is managed by the Apex Unit - Staff College, Bangalore - in close consultation with business units. There are 7 Staff Training Centres at Aluva (Kerala), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Powai (Maharashtra), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneshwar (Orissa), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) Gurgaon (Delhi) ably supplementing the training efforts of Staff College, Bangalore. A high-powered committee of top executives - Chairman, Executive Directors, General Managers - meets once in six months to review the training activities and provides directions for the way forward. The Principal of Staff College, Bangalore, is the Member-Secretary of this Committee. Almost there are 20 channels with a capacity to train 524 persons at a time. Facilities provided for the trainees are holistic and both the class room and residential arrangements are uniform throughout. All the training centres, including the mother unit at Bangalore are the Bank's own except one centre at Ahmedabad. The training programmes are run on residential type and the trainee is treated as the internal customer of the bank. The Bank also utilizes external training facilities offered by reputed organizations like NIBM, BTC, CAB, BIRD, RBI, MDI. Its main aim is to promote a culture of continuous learning for the development of the individual and the Bank to ensure that Union Bank is a learning organization. |
