Re: Types of communications skills

Hey the speaking, Listening, Writing, and Reading Effectively. Communication skills are some of the most important skills that you need to succeed in the workplace.

Verbal communication

Verbal communication is applicable to a wide range of situations, ranging from informal office discussions to public speeches made to thousands of people.
Public speaking is the aspect of verbal communication that many otherwise confident business people struggle with.

Written communication

Written communication is essential for communicating complicated information, such as statistics or other data, that could not be easily communicated through speech aloneWritten communication must be clear and concise in order to communicate information effectively.

Nonverbal communication

Nonverbal communication is much more difficult for many people. It consists of body language and the cues that are given off while listening to someone else speak.

Other communications skills needed to develop are

Take a real interest in what the other party(s) is communicating.

People are attracted to those that show an interest in them, and will watch more closely what they are wearing.

Body language says a lot, and bad body language sends the wrong message, so relax, stop twirling your hair, and stop fidgeting.

Use eye contact and smile for a positive response.

When you are speaking show the appropriate enthusiasm in your tone, and when you are listening show the appropriate enthusiasm in your body language.
