In year 1946 on 23rd June, B. J. Medicinal College was established to supplant past B. J. Medicinal School, with Shri. B. G. Kher the leader of the Bombay Government, establishing the framework stone. This was the satisfaction of the vision of a far located Parsi humanitarian Byramjee Jeejeebhoy, to have a foundation in Poona for preparing of specialists and giving medicinal offices keeping pace with those in Bombay.

The medicinal course of MBBS was associated to the University of Poona (Pune) in 1949.

B.J. Medicinal College, (BJMC) Pune is one of the head therapeutic organizations in Maharashtra and India. The school, managed by the Government of Maharashtra, includes different clinical and para/pre-clinical divisions working close by the Sassoon General Hospitals.
