Re: University of Waterloo Engineering Management Option
The University of Waterloo is a public research university with a main campus in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The option in Management Sciences (MSCI option) gives University of Waterloo undergraduate engineering students the opportunity to incorporate the management sciences element in their engineering degree program. The MSCI option is available and uniquely suited to all engineering disciplines at Waterloo. MSCI option requirements The MSCI option consists simply of six courses: three (3) required and three (3) elective courses. Many of these courses have equivalents from other programs. At least three of the six courses must be MSCI courses from the Department of Management Sciences. A maximum of one course not from the approved list may be counted toward the option, with written approval from the MSCI option coordinator and the associate chair of undergraduate studies in the student's home department. You must complete a course substitution request form (PDF) for a substitution to be considered. You may take both MSCI 211 and MSCI 311, in which case one will count toward the required courses and the other toward the elective courses. For the designation "Option in Management Sciences" to be included on your transcript, you must achieve a minimum overall cumulative average of 60% in the six courses.
