The Engineering Service Examination is one of the most prestigious examination in the country was held on January 8, 2017.

The General Studies and Engineering Aptitude Paper was conducted for 200 marks.

The time duration of the paper was 2 hours.
The General Studies and Engineering Aptitude paper was conducted in the Morning session from 9 AM to 11 AM.
The Engineering Discipline Paper-II was conducted in the afternoon shift – 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.

Cut-Off Marks Analysis Stream-Wise:

Engineering Service Examination is conducted by UPSC for five major streams of engineering.

It consists of three stage cut-off for final selection.
STAGE-1: Objective (Max Marks: 600)
STAGE-2: Interview Shortlist (Max Marks: 1000)
STAGE-3: Final Selection (Max Marks: 1200)

Paper Analysis of General Studies and Engineering Aptitude:

The General Studies and Engineering Aptitude Paper was moderate and is expected that most of the aspirants will score good marks.
The IES Paper was of objective type.
There were 100 questions in the paper. For one questions four options were given.
All questions carried equal marks

There were total 300 questions in the exam. The questions were calculative in nature
The Technical Paper was bit lengthy.
