National Eligibility Test which the aspirants commonly and proudly abbreviate as NET , is a national level exam meant for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at Indian varsities & colleges.

Eligibility Criteria

The qualification eligibility to apply for the post of JRF is 55% marks in listed programmes – BE/M.Sc/B.Tech/MBBS/Integrated MS-PhD/BSc. (Hons) Degree or equivalent .

On the other hand the eligibility to apply for Lectureship is that, the candidate must have done PhD before 19 September, 1991 with minimum 50% marks.

Exam pattern:

First I 100 60 out of which 50 question to be attempted 1¼ Hours
First II 100 50 questions all are compulsory 1¼ Hours
Second III 150 75 questions all are compulsory 2 1/2 Hours

Application Fee

Application fee has also been categorized differently for different categories.

Application fee for the candidates of General and OBC category is 400/-.
For SC/ST candidates application fee is 200/-.
Whereas for Physically Handicapped it is just 100/-.
