Uttar Pradesh Technical University is a public university in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh established by the government of Uttar Pradesh.

The university was bifurcated into separate universities: Gautam Buddha Technical University and Mahamaya Technical University with effect from 1 May 2010

In 2013, this university was again formed by combining the two back together on 5 January 2013.

It is the biggest technical university in Asia.

It had approximately 800 colleges affiliated to it.
