If you have not achieved the minimum requirements for English language competence, you may be offered Conditional Admission at University of Western Australia UWA.
If this is the case, you must enrol in one (or two) unit(s) of English language (HUMA1901 and/or HUMA1902) in your first semester at UWA.

The acceptable scores for this conditional offer are:

IELTS 6.0 (no band score below 5.5)
Internet-based TOEFL 70 (17 in Listening, 19 in Speaking, 14 in Reading and 20 in Writing)
Computer-based TOEFL 210
Paper-based TOEFL 550
UWA Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT) Bridging Course C+

You require an overall academic IELTS score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0 for entry to undergraduate study. This must include Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening bands.

IELTS results are valid for two years only.

Special faculty requirements

Higher English scores are required for admission to higher degrees in some faculties at UWA:

Law: overall IELTS of 7.5, with a minimum score of 7.5 for reading and writing and a minimum of 7.0 for speaking and listening.

Education: overall IELTS score of 7.0, with a minimum of 6.5 in reading and writing.

Dentistry: overall IELTS score of 7.0, with a minimum of 6.5 in reading and writing.

Business: overall IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.5 in reading and writing.
