As you want I am here giving you syllabus for Ph.D. Entrance Test of Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota.

Syllabus of Ph.D. Entrance Test:

Part I

Part I will consist of 40 objective type questions in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
under following sub-heads:

• Language Comprehension and vocabulary.

• Information and Communication Technology Awareness:
ICT: Meaning, advantages, disadvantages and uses
General abbreviations and terminology
Basics of internet and e-mailing
Social Networking and Search engines
Latest Software for Data Interpretation for Research purposes

• General Research Aptitude
Research: Meaning, characteristics and types
Methods of research
Research ethics
Methods of Writing Bibliography and References
Paper, article, workshop, seminar, conference and symposium
Thesis writing: Its characteristics and format

• General Knowledge of Indian Higher Education System
Structure of the institutions for higher learning and research in India
Formal and Distance education
Professional / Technical and General Education
Latest policies, commissions and latest trends in Indian Higher Education System

Part II

Part II will be divided into three groups viz; Group A, Group B and Group C.

• Group A: It will deal with the core papers of the respective subjects. It will consist of 15
compulsory objective type questions in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

• Group B: This section will also deal with the core papers of respective subjects. It will consist
of 10 short answer type questions. The candidate will attempt any 05 questions. Answer limit
should be of approx. 150 words for each question.

• Group C: It will consist of 04 long answer type questions out of which 02 are to be answered
approximately in 300 words for each question. This group will be elective. The candidate will
opt any one elective group and from that he/she will have to attempt 02 (two) questions out of
04 (four).
