Re: VNIT Nagpur Vs BITS Goa
Both the institutes - Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (VNIT Nagpur) and Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – Goa Campus - are equally good. All depends on the subject you take admission in. VNIT Nagpur Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (VNIT Nagpur) is a premier public engineering and research institution in India. It has been consistently ranked among the best 15 engineering colleges in India. It was established in June 1960 by the Government of India and later named in honor of engineer, planner and statesman, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. VNIT Nagpur is ranked the 14th best Engineering College in India in the Edu-Rand Rankings of 2015. The survey was done jointly by Edu, an Indian company and Rand Corporation, a non-profit American think-tank. In 2015, it was also ranked 11th in India by Times in its Engineering Institute Rankings. Recently, it has been ranked 18th nationally in the engineering schools ranking conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIFR). Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – Goa Campus Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani - K.K.Birla Goa Campus is a premier technical and science institute for higher education in India, located in Goa, India. Founded in 2004, it is one of four campuses of the university BITS Pilani. As a campus of BITS Pilani, it follows the curriculum, teaching methodology, and educational practices of BITS Pilani, including the Practice school system. The Aditya Birla Group privately supports the residential features of the institute. A 2008 study by the Indian Semiconductor Association (ISA) found that BITS Pilani, IISc and the top five IITs accounted for 70–75% of Indian semiconductor research. It is ranked among the Annual rankings of engineering colleges in India published by India Today since 1997. BITS Pilani ranked in the top five from 1997 to 2004, but it opted out of the rankings from 2005 to 2008. In 2009 it rejoined the list, ranked fifth-top engineering college in India in 2012. The Government of India's National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) rated BITS a five-star institution for the period ending 7 February 2007. BITS Pilani is accredited by the NAAC with a CGPA of 3.71 (out of 4.0) with an A grade for the period 1 April 2007 to 8 March 2009. |
