Re: Western Carolina University Exchange
A bilateral exchange program is an arrangement between WCU (Western Carolina University) and an international institution for the purposes of student exchange. Essentially, WCU sends a student (or students) to study at the partner university, which in turn sends a student (or students) to study at WCU. Students need to apply and be approved by the study abroad office. Then they are given the partner university's application to complete. Students pay fees and tuition to WCU and room and board to the host institution. Additional costs include flight, mandatory travel health insurance, and miscellaneous expenses, e.g. books, lab fees, and money for social activities and extra-curricular travel. Housing arrangements differ according to location and may include a single room in a shared apartment; a dorm-style room with a private or shared bathroom; or a home stay. Not every university will offer every option. Courses will be regular courses taught at the institution.
