The major task assigned to a Tax Assistant in CBEC will be to properly dispatch and prepare reports for the department he/ she gets posted in, which can be Excise, Service Tax and Customs.
The post of Tax Assistant has a limited power and works under a Superintendent or Appraiser.

At some places, a Tax Assistant also work under an Examiner, Probationary Officer and Excise Inspector.

Grade Pay: Rs. 2,400/-
