Former University of Mississippi Chancellor Robert C. Khayat will be the speaker at the annual William Carey University Scholarship Dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The dinner raised $603,000 for student scholarships at Carey. The total amount raised for scholarships between the five dinners is nearly $2 million.
Ninety percent of Carey students receive some type of financial assistance.
The event, now in its fourth year, raises money for student scholarships.
More than 90% of Carey students receive some type of financial assistance and over $1.1 million has been raised through past dinners.
The dinner, now in its fourth year, is held to raise money for institutional scholarships for WCU students,
90 percent of whom receive some type of financial aid.
The total contributions for scholarships exceeded $287,000, bringing the total raised for the four years to $1.4 million.
