The Centre for Women's Studies at Barkatullah University was established in the year 2006. It was established by the U.G.C to offer a four pronged approach to dealing with issues of women's empowerment. These include

The centre is Headed by a Director, Professor Asha Shukla.

M.Phil in Women’s Studies

Duration--- 1 ½ years

Certificate course in Old age care

Duration--- 3 months

Activities Provided:

• Workshops and seminars

• Second national Workshop on Economic Empowerment of Women(Tribal)

• Sammelan of Self-Help Groups to understand problems and suggest remedies and to include these in curriculum.

• Third National Workshop on Antarrashtriya Mahila Divas (8th March 2007) on Tribal Women and Joint Forest management (IFM)
