Www Materials IISC

I am planning to take admission in Material Engineering Department of Material Engineering Department want details about this department. Can you please provide me list of courses which is offered in this department also provide details about their credit so that I can apply here?

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a public university for scientific research and higher education located in Bangalore, India and was established in 1909.

The Material Engineering Department currently offers three degree programs. The Ph.D and M.Sc. (Engg) programs have a focus on research.

Course details along with their credits:

ME programme:

Total number of credits to be taken: 32; Hard core: 8 credits; Soft core: 9 credits; Electives: 15 credits (9 credits must be from the Department)

At least three courses should be chosen amongst the soft core courses — two in the August semester, and one in January semester.
You can take more of these courses as electives.

Ph.D. students:

You will have to credit MT: 250, if you do not have a background in Materials.If you have ME/M.Tech./M.Sc. (Engg) degree, you will have to take 6 credits of course.If you have BE/B.Tech./M.Sc. degree, you will have to take 18 credits of course.
Those who convert from ME/M.Tech. program of the institute, will also have to fulfill 18 credit of course.

M.Sc. (Engg) students:

You will have to credit MT: 250, if you do not have a background in Materials.
You will have to take 12-18 credit of course.
