Indian Institute of Science is a public university for scientific research and higher education located in Bangalore, India and was established in 1909.

The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) 2016 is the national Entrance Exam conducted in 2016 by IIT Madras for admissions to the M.Sc. (Two Years) course.

JAM 2016 Zonal Centres:

Zone 1: Indian Institute of Science Bangalore

Zone 2: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay

Zone 3: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi

Zone 4: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati

Zone 5: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur

Zone 6: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur

Zone 7: Indian Institute of Technology Madras

Zone 8: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee

JAM 2016 Exam Pattern:

The JAM 2016 exam will be held for 7 papers namelyBiological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA) , Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH)

Duration of the exam will be 3 hours and the exam will be held in English only

There will be a total of 60 questions carrying 100 marks

The Question Paper will be divided into three sections, A, B and C and all sections are compulsory.

Section A will contain a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carrying one or two marks each.

Section B contains a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) carrying two marks each. Section C contains a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions carrying one or two marks
