Uranium Corporation of India Limited was fused on fourth October 1967. It is a Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy with an extraordinary remaining at the bleeding edge of Nuclear Power cycle. Satisfying the necessity of uranium for the Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors, UCIL assumes an exceptionally critical part in atomic power era of the nation.

The Company works six underground mines (Bagjata, Jaduguda, Bhatin, Narwapahar, Turamdih and Mohuldih) and one open pit mine (Banduhurang) in the State of Jharkhand. Metal delivered from these mines are prepared in two process plants situated at Jaduguda and Turamdih.

Yearly turnover of the Company for the year 2013-14 was Rs 814 Crore.
