Can you provide me the paper pattern and previous year question paper of Indian Air Force conducts Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)?

Indian Air Force conducts Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is for recruitment to Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Officer Branches. It came into existence in the year 2011.

Graduates in all streams including B.E, B. Tech, B. Sc, M.Com, CA, ICWA are eligible to apply for AFCAT.


Examination Pattern (AFCAT 2016):


There will be 100 questions in total.
For every right answer, the candidates will be offered three marks and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The Duration of the examination is two hours.

There will be Four Sections in the question paper-
General Awareness,
Verbal Ability,
Numerical Ability,
Reasoning,
Aptitude Test

Scheme of Syllabus (AFCAT 2016):

1) General Awareness – Politics, Current Affairs, Culture, Art, Defence, Basic Science, Civics, Environment, Geography, Sports, History etc.

2) Verbal Ability in English – Antonyms, Testing of Vocabulary, Synonyms, Sentence Completion, Error Detection and Comprehension.

3) Numerical Ability – Simple Interest, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Average, Simplification and Decimal Fraction.

4) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability


Pay and Allowances
Flying of fiercer will be entitled to pay in Pay Band of Rs 15,600-39,100 per month along with Grade Pay, Military Service, Deadness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, and Transport Allowance

On successful completion of Training, the newly Commissioned Flying Officers would be entitled to approximate gross monthly emoluments in different branches including Transport Allowance of major cities as follows:

a) Flying Branch - Rs 80,250/-

b) Technical Branch - Rs 71,550/-

c) Ground Duty Branches - Rs 68,550/-

Benefits:
In addition to the Pay & Allowances, Officers are entitled to Furnished Accommodation, Comprehensive Medical Cover for self and dependants, Leave Travel Concession; Leave (60 days Annual and 20 days Casual) subject to service exigency, supply.
