Registered Dietitian Exam acronym as RD Exam is taken every year by Indian Dietetic Association to award registration to applicants who successfully qualify in it. Passing of RD Exam is mandatory for those candidates who want to become Registered Dietician in India.

Examination Pattern :

Registered Dietitian Exam consists of two test papers each (having three section each) of two hours duration as given below:

Paper I Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry
Section A&B
Objective que.(50) &
Multiple choice (20)


Section C
Clinical oriented que.(30) 2 Hr.
Paper II
Nutrition, Dietitian, Food Service Management. 2 Hr

There are different types of dietician positions: clinical dieticians, community dieticians, management dieticians, and consultant diecitians.


Each of these positions offers different career options, such as food nutrition services in hospitals, nutrition counseling in public health agencies and fitness clubs or clinical management in food service systems.
