The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level committee for specialized instruction, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development

Specialized instruction in India contributes a noteworthy offer to the general training framework and assumes a crucial part in the social and monetary improvement of our country. In India, specialized instruction is bestowed at different levels, for example, craftsmanship, recognition, degree, post-graduate and research in particular fields, taking into account different parts of mechanical improvement and monetary advancement.

AICTE is vested with statutory power for arranging, detailing and upkeep of standards and norms, quality affirmation through school accreditation, subsidizing in need zones, checking and assessment, keeping up equality of confirmation and grants and guaranteeing composed and incorporated advancement and administration of specialized training in the nation as a feature of the AICTE Act No. 60 of 2004.

The AICTE consists ten bureaus, namely:

• e-Governance (e-Gov) Bureau
• Faculty Development (FD) Bureau
• Undergraduate Education (UG) Bureau
• Postgraduate Education and Research (PGER) Bureau
• Quality Assurance (QA) Bureau
• Planning and Co-ordination (PC) Bureau
• Research and Institutional Development (RID) Bureau
• Administration (Admin) Bureau
• Finance (Fin) Bureau
• Academic (Acad) Bureau
