The main objective of the programme is to upgrade the expertise and capabilities of the faculty members of the degree-level engineering institutions in the country

There are three main activities under QIP

Offering opportunities to faculty members of the engineering institutions to improve their qualifications by offering admissions to Master and Ph.D degree programmes
Organizing Short Term Courses at the QIP Centres for serving teachers
Curriculum Development Cell activities which help to improve class room teaching and learning

The procedure of admission under QIP involves the following steps:

Inspection of all applications in the office of the Principal Coordinator QIP
Short-listing by individual institutions for interviews
Recommendations by the institutions
Final selection by the National QIP Coordination Committee (NQCC) and
Offer of Admission by the Institution where the final selection has been recommended by NQCC.
