The Department of Dermatology and Venereology was set up in1950s at All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi.

The department has introduced many new innovative treatment methods like Dexametasone cyclophoshphamide pulse therapy and oral mini pulse and investigative procedures for allergic skin diseases.

The department also provides various fellowships and training programs in bullous dermatosis, contact dermatitis, dermatosurgery and lasers, general dermatology and STIs.
