The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to advance and propel the building and innovation, built up in 1920 and consolidated by Royal Charter in 1935. It is the biggest multi-disciplinary expert group of designers incorporating 15 (fifteen) building disciplines with an enrollment of more than 820 thousand, and serving the country for over 9 decades. The IEI has its central command situated in Kolkata with national nearness through more than hundred Centers and a few Overseas Chapters, Foras and Organ.

Full form of AMIE is "Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers". AMIE is an expert affirmation given by Institution of Engineers (India). The capability can be earned by passing Section A, Project Work and Section B examination of the Institution.
