Can you tell me if First class is compulsorily required for admission in Research Program in Science and Humanities Program in Centre for Research of Anna University?

Centre for Research is functioning from the inception of Anna University on 4th September 1978, offering research programmes in different branches of Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Planning, Science & Humanities and Management Sciences leading to award of Ph.D. and M.S. (By Research) degrees.

The Centre is offering admission to Ph.D. and M.S. (By Research) programmes twice a year. Around 13,000 research scholars are pursuing Ph.D. and M.S./M. Tech (By Research) programmes.

General Eligibility

Master's Degree of this University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by this University.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology of this University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 15 years of R & D Experience in National Research Laboratories / Public sector undertakings and with minimum of 3 publications in referred journals / 2 patents in last 5 years.

First class or minimum of 60% marks / CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying exam (55% marks or CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale, in the case of SC / ST candidates). For M.A. (English) Degree a holder including SC / ST applicants a minimum of 55% marks is necessary.
