Azusa Pacific University Theater Events
Which are the events conduct by the Department of Theater Arts of the Azusa Pacific University. Will you please tell how I can get videos of those events of the university. Also tell what are the major courses offered by Department of Theater Arts of the Azusa Pacific University. Through a program of rigorous training, the Department of Theater Arts, APU prepares outstanding, innovative, and influential artists in an ever-growing and multi-faceted performing arts profession. Department of Theater Arts Events- New Works Festival- by student writers Director TBD The New Works Play Festival creates an opportunity for the development of new works by supporting aspiring playwrights. The series of one-act plays promotes new writing, directing, and performing talents. Each play has been developed through coursework, workshop readings, and production. Playwrights have collaborated with guest directors, guest designers, faculty, actors, and student dramaturgs throughout the process. Students will submit these one acts to compete in the prestigious Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival. Dates: March 1-5, 2017 Times: Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m., plus Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Location: Black Box Theater, 701 E. Foothill Blvd., Azusa This show is recommended for ages 16 and up. Godspell Music and Lyrics by Steven Schwartz Book by John-Michael Tebelak Director Kevin Slay The classic musical Godspell returns to the APU stage like you’ve never seen it before! Godspell is a family-friendly musical that examines the Gospel of Matthew in a modern day song and dance style. Written by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked and Pippin), the musical explores Jesus’ parables and teachings with his young disciples in the last few weeks of his life. Dates: March 30-April 9, 2017 Times: Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m., plus Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Location: Warehouse Theater, 701 E.
