New Works Festival-

The New Works Play Festival creates an opportunity for the development of new works by supporting aspiring playwrights.

The series of one-act plays promotes new writing, directing, and performing talents. Each play has been developed through coursework, workshop readings, and production.

Playwrights have collaborated with guest directors, guest designers, faculty, actors, and student dramaturgs throughout the process.

Students will submit these one acts to compete in the prestigious Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival.

Dates: March 1-5, 2017

Times: Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m., plus Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Location: Black Box Theater, 701 E. Foothill Blvd., Azusa

This show is recommended for ages 16 and up.

Godspell

The classic musical Godspell returns to the APU stage like you’ve never seen it before! Godspell is a family-friendly musical that examines the Gospel of Matthew in a modern day song and dance style.

Written by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked and Pippin), the musical explores Jesus’ parables and teachings with his young disciples in the last few weeks of his life.

Dates: March 30-April 9, 2017

Times: Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m., plus Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Location: Warehouse Theater, 701 E. Foothill Blvd., Azusa
