Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant

The Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) is an Indo‐Russian joint venture for establishing a nuclear power station with 2 units (KKNPP‐1&2) of 1000 MWe Pressurized Water Reactors of VVER design at Kudankulam in Tamilnadu.

It is covered by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards, on lines with existing stations like Tarapur‐1&2 and Rajastan‐1&2 built in collaboration with USA and Canada respectively.
