Biju Patnaik University of Technology was created by an act of the Odisha state legislature in November 2002. It is the state technical university of Odisha.

Transfer rules:

No student from one Government college to another Government college shall be allowed to transfer unless it is a rarest of the rare case. Under no circumstances, the Inter-college transfer within the city & within 50 kilometer distance shall be allowed
