Here is the cut off criteria Paper I – CAPF Cutoff 2016 Mark ( Out of 250) Category General OBC SC ST Ex.S Paper- I 110- 120 110- 120 90- 100 90- 100 35- 45 CAPF Cutoff 2016 Written Mark ( Out of 450 ) Category General OBC SC ST Ex-S Written 170- 180 170- 180 150- 160 145- 155 65- 75 UPSC CAPF Cutoff 2016 Final Mark ( Out of 600 ) Category General OBC SC ST Ex-S Final 275- 285 270- 280 250- 260 245- 255 200- 210 Eligibility Only Indian citizens can apply Both Male and Female aspirants are eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants in CRPF, CISF, SSB and BSF. However, appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants in ITBP is not meant for the female candidates Bachelor’s / Graduate degree from a recognized institute is an essential educational requirement The age of the applicant should lie between 20 – 25 years as on 1st August 2016 Candidates will have to possess the minimum physical standards as to be specified in the official notification. Exam pattern General Ability and Intelligence: The paper will be objective based carrying multiple choice questions. The question paper will be bilingual – English and Hindi. Maximum marks – 250 marks General Studies, Essay and Comprehension: Here, candidates will have the option of writing the Essay Component in English/Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension and other language skills will be English only. Maximum marks – 200 marks. Syllabus The paper-1 comprises of objective type questions with multiple choices and will broadly cover the following areas- General Mental Ability- The questions will be designed to test the logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude including numerical ability, and data interpretation. General Science- The questions will be set to test general awareness, scientific temper, comprehension and appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation including new areas of importance like Information Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science. Current Events of National and International Importance- Candidates must be aware of current events of national and international importance in the broad areas of culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, societal and developmental issues, industry, business, globalisation, and interplay among nations. Indian Polity and Economy- Candidate should have the knowledge of the Country’s political system and the Constitution of India, social systems and public administration, economic development in India, regional and international security issues and human rights including its indicators. History of India- The questions will broadly cover the subject in its social, economic and political aspects. This shall also include the areas of growth of nationalism and freedom movement. Indian and World Geography- The questions shall cover the physical, social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World. Paper II- General Studies, Essay and Comprehension Part-A – Essay Writing- 80 Marks Candidates have to write an essay in long narrative form either in Hindi or English. The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability. Part-B – Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – 120 Marks Cadidate’s have to write this section in English language only. The topics are Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing. |
