CAT (Common Admission Test) cut off is the least percentile decided after considering various factors and is applied for short listing the candidates for further selection rounds. Apart from the 20 IIMs, there are more than 100 B-Schools in India which accepting the CAT score. Apart from the cut off, the B-Schools will also take into consideration the past academic record, one’s involvement in co-curricular activities, work experience (if any), internship experience (if any) and such other factors. Official cutoff of CAT – The IIMs decide and apply the cutoff but they never announce it officially. 3. Cutoff announced by Experts – Various experts having years of experience and knowledge in the field of CAT coaching predict the cutoff mainly after the completion of CAT exam. Difference between Qualifying and Official CAT cutoff • The official cutoff always remains higher than the qualifying percentile. • To be considered for the IIM PI short listing, it is important for the candidates to obtain marks in CAT equal to or more than the announced minimum CAT percentile. |
