The Common Admission Test or CAT is for taking admission in top IIT’s for management courses. CAT is national-level MBA entrance examination conducted by the IIMs. Common Admission Test is the premier all India management entrance exam conducted by IIMs. Last year 2,04,267 students competed for 1550+ seats making it the most competitive exam in the country. The test scores a candidate on the bases of : Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) Logical Reasoning (LR) Important dates: Process Tentative Date Release of Official Notification between 24-27 July 2016 Online Registration for CAT 2016 between 06- 26 August 2016 Admit Card Download From October 25, 2016, 01:00 pm till exam day Test Date November 27, 2016 Result Declaration Mid of January 2017 Eligibility: Candidates have A graduate degree from a recognized institution One must have secured a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA during their graduation. Students in the final year of graduation can also apply for the CAT but they will have to qualify the given qualification criteria: Reservation: Reserved SC applicants:15% Reserved ST applicants:7.5% Reserved OBC applicants:27% People with disabilities:3% CAT exam pattern: Paper will have mix of MCQ and NON MCQ questions Duration of the Exam Will be three Hours or 180 Minutes Each Correct Answer will bring 3 Marks For wrong answers there is a penalty of -1 marks The tesr paper will have three papers Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation and Verbal Reasoning Total Paper Will Contain 100 Questions |
